Grants funded by General Fund monies are generally designed to assist Peoria residents and include activities such as health and welfare programs, children’s programs, arts programs, music programs, homebound services, elderly assistance and many others.

PUBLIC
HOUSING

 

The City of Peoria, Public Housing Authority provides low income, elderly, disabled and other HUD eligible individuals with safe, decent and sanitary housing at an affordable price.  They also provide rent subsidy to eligible, very low-income individuals and families through the Section 8 Assistance Program.  These programs are federally funded by HUD.  The waiting period for applicants depends on the length of the waiting list and the availability of housing.
