84th Avenue Streetscape
Project Description
Aesthetic improvements to 84th Avenue from Peoria
Avenue to Monroe Street to improve pedestrian function and
neighborhood character. The improvements will consist of decorative
sidewalks, landscaping, and utility improvements. In addition to
$1.5 million of city funds, the crosswalks, pedestrian amenities,
and opportunities for public art display. Project funding includes
approx. $1.1 million in federal grants through the Maricopa
Association of Governments Transportation Program
and is subject to federal guidelines for administration of design
and
construction processes

Status
The
Design
Concept Report was completed in February, 2005 which
provided design alternatives and recommendations. Final design
is currently 30% complete. Final design to be completed by
Spring/Summer 2009 and construction to start in the Fall 2009.
