form submitted by the City of 
Peoria Police Supervisors

4R	PLAQUE EVENTS:
Discussion and possible action to review the following plaque events: the War of 1812 (The USS 
Constitution, Fort McHenry, and New Orleans), the Mexican-American War (Monterrey, Buena Vista, 
Siege of Vera Cruz, and Capture of Mexico City), the Civil War (Fort Sumter, Monitor and Merrimac, 
and Shiloh), and the Gulf War (Desert Shield and Desert Storm).  Approved: Desert Storm, New 
Orleans, Buena Vista, and the Capture of Mexico City.  Carried over: The USS Constitution, Fort 
McHenry, Monterrey, the Siege of Vera Cruz, Fort Sumter, Monitor and Merrimac, Shiloh, and Desert 
Shield.

5R	PEORIA VETERANS RECOGNITION EVENT:
Discussion and possible action regarding the Peoria Veterans Recognition Event (“Fun Run”).  Peoria 
Veterans Recognition Event Subcommittee formed: Reed Webber (Sub-chair) and Doris Gosney (co-
chair).  Carried over.

6R	FUTURE DESIGN SERVICES:
Discussion and possible action of architectural planning for future design services.  Carried over.

7R	SIGNAGE FOR THE VETERANS MEMORIAL WALL:
Discussion and possible action of signage featuring the Veterans Memorial Wall at the Rio Vista 
Recreation Center.  Carried over.

Your comments pertaining to the Veterans Memorial Board business are welcome.  However, if you 
wish to address the Veterans Memorial Board, please complete a Speaker Request Form and return it 
to the clerk before the call to order for this meeting.  Boards and Commissions are not authorized by 
state law to discuss or take action on any issue raised by public comment until a later meeting.


Reports from Staff: Veterans Memorial Wall presentation made to American Legion Post 110, 
01/25/08.  Presentation to Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) West is scheduled for 02/19/08.


Reports from Committee: Board requested staff to make Veterans Memorial Wall presentation to 
Northeast Veterans Association, 03/15/08.  Next Veterans Memorial Board meeting is scheduled for 
03/11/08.
